Good news.

God news—it is now day 54 of the new regime. And democracy is still standing [even if a little damaged].

Why is that important?

After Hitler became Chancellor [after the Nazi’s won the 1932 election] it took only 53 years for the demolition of the Weimar democracy. The final nail in the coffin was the passage of the Enabling Act, which gave Hitler dictatorial powers. [Sound Familar]

It is a very small triumph, but we take our victories where we can find them.
